"O-Collection: Re-Plastic Edition” is a furniture design concept that is developed by an Emirati architect.
It consists of two minimalistic and multi-functional objects that integrate the use of sustainable materials made entirely out of post-consumer plastic waste. By intertwining positive social impact, multi-functional and forward-thinking designs, and supporting sustainable material suppliers, igniting a compelling dialogue and exploration in the creative industry, delving into the boundless possibilities and diverse scenarios of future living spaces.
In collaboration with Smile Plastics, the collection features sustainable, multi-colored sheet panels, entirely derived from post-consumer plastic waste. The upholstered seats and backrests feature an innovative upholstery material, where each meter of fabric contains the equivalent of 26 plastic bottles, effectively repurposing these materials that would otherwise end up polluting the ocean.
