Inspired by Swedish designer’s Croatian roots and the historic significance of the ancient Croatian script known as Glagoljica, this project took its name from the first two letters of the alphabet: az and buki.
It honored the designer’s homeland by blending it with her passion for handcrafted decor, resulting in ceramic art that balanced form and function, suitable for various interior styles. The vision is to evolve these prototype sculptures into cozy mood lighting, emitting a warm glow from within while casting dramatic shadows to enhance their textures.
Each piece served as both a decorative sculpture and functional lighting, fostering a sense of comfort and warmth. This collection reflected her appreciation for her Croatian heritage while infusing her minimalist Scandinavian design aesthetic.
