Tansej, meaning "she weaves," honored the collaborative work of multidisciplinary Emirati artist Noura Al Serkal and the talented weavers of Atelier Talasin—Hanane, Urdía, Fadma, Aziza, and Nadia.
These artisans, rooted in the Amazigh culture, reside in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains, where they have harvested and woven natural fibers for centuries.
As part of the female cooperative Atelier Talasin, they partnered with owner Shane Ordovas to revive the ancient Berber Knot, a technique that had nearly been lost to time.
This, combined with the rare fibers of the Siroua sheep and dyes made from local plants, encapsulated the authenticity of Moroccan culture and craftsmanship.
By bringing together these two creative forces from different regions, TANSEJ highlighted the rich heritage and artistry inherited in their work, presenting a stunning blend of tradition and innovation.
