The studio has undertaken a series of research workshops in response to the changes in their lives arising out of the covid-19 pandemic. They have asked what the key challenges will be as we live with the virus for an undetermined period of time and looked for possible answers to these questions.
As architects and designers working across a broad range of sectors, they believe it is vital the profession stay informed of the future needs of the community. Continual workshops are the first step towards a better understanding of the impact on the design profession and help to inform our future so we can continue to deliver the innovation and quality that projects demand.
Grimshaw’s research covers crucial issues such as how changing attitudes to density will affect cities and master planning, how we can still maintain a global perspective with closed borders and how changes to our collective and individual behaviour will affect the way we live, work, play and travel.
