The masterplan for the Burj2020 District in Dubai is set to be revealed next month by starchitect Adrian Smith – who said “the eyes of the world” are on the city and its urban design.
The man behind the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, and its likely successor, Saudi Arabia’s 1km tall Kingdom Tower, will be unveiling the design at Cityscape Global, which takes place from 8 to 10 September.
A presentation called “Burj2020 Vision” will be screened at Dubai design body DMCC’s stand number A10, Hall 2, Dubai World Trade Centre. In addition, a three-dimensional interactive multimedia map will offer visitors a unique opportunity to view the emirate’s new growth corridor from its southern gateway.
Adrian Smith (pictured) and his partner Gordon Gill – who form architecture firm AS+GG – will also be making an appearance and will speak about their philosophy when it comes to design.
