Downtown Design is proud to have hosted three international design weeks included in the WDR's top five countries.
World Design Rankings ranks all the countries based on the number of designers that have been granted with the A' Design Award. The A’ Design Award and Competition aims to highlight the excellent qualifications of best designs, design concepts and design oriented products worldwide in all creative disciplines and industries.
Downtown Design is proud to have hosted three design weeks under 'Destinations' from the top five countries ranked including USA (San Francisco Design Week), China (Beijing Design Week) and Turkey (Istanbul Design Week), as part of Dubai Design Week.
Downtown Design is the commercial centerpiece of the Dubai Design Week and its third edition had a successful representation of design from around the world.
San Francisco Design Week presented Hello Lumio and Council Design, as well as design and fabrication studio, Galanter & Jones.
Galanter & Jones, San Francisco Design Week
Galanter & Jones is a design and fabrication studio run by brother-and-sister duo Aaron and Miranda Jones. The brand made its debut in 2012 with a line of heated outdoor seating; the pieces are durable, comfotable and aesthetically-pleasing.
Beijing Design Week brought together three design brands: Benwu Studio, Zaozuo and EOQ, which gave an insight into the transforming design landscape in China.

Since 2014, Chinese furniture brand Zaozuo has been creating beautifully crafted, high quality furniture in a natural colour palette, designed to suit everyday needs for consumers seeking unique design at a reasonable price point.
Istanbul Design Week presented Day Studio and Escape from Sofa, as well as furniture design brand Halit Berker,
Halit Berker, Istanbul Design Week
Halit Berker designs are inspired by the 1950s and 1960s. The brand owner, Halit, transitioned from working in the advertising industry to taking up his passion for designing furniture full-time.
Also included in the World Design Rankings and hosted at Downtown Design were Mexico (Mexico Design Week), Australia (Melbourne Design Week) and Finland (Helsinki Design Week).
