Herman Miller is a name synonymous with modern furniture. Working with legendary designers George Nelson and Charles and Ray Eames in 1950s, the company’s design collaborations have become industrial design classics. Continuing its collaboration in the present day, Herman Miller works with some of the most renowned designers in the world: Alexander Girard, Isamu Noguchi, Robert Propst, Bill Stumpf, Don Chadwick, Ayse Birsel, Studio 7.5, Yves Béhar and Doug Ball.
Ever since Herman Miller designed the world’s first research-based ergonomic chair in 1976 that improved the way people sit it has continued to break new ground with its innovations.
The tilt technology in each of the brand’s performance work chairs creates the perfectly balanced recline for long days in the office, and is engineered to cradle the body, respond to movement, and keep one cool. Its patented PostureFit technology supports the base of the spine further improving comfort.
Its recent Metaform portfolio created by Studio 7.5 is tailored to the demands of new working environments, where surroundings, furnishings and equipment are increasingly expected to be as flexible and intuitive as personal technology.
Comprising a system of lightweight, foundational blocks to be put together, taken apart, or rearranged, the Metaform portfolio offers unprecedented flexibility to the workplace.
The curved or straight blocks can be combined in various ways to create a multitude of settings, from semi-enclosed spaces to more private ones, and surfaces placed at varying heights on the staggered furrows.
