Studio EM is a Dubai0based creative design agency with a portfolio of clients that includes the Armani Hotel, Candylicious (Dubai Mall), Wagamama, Novo Cinemas and more.
The judges commended the firm for its “incredibly well put together projects”, with a special mention going out to the firm’s work on The Hangout.
Studio EM’s portfolio has blossomed to a set of projects that are original and show design thought and engagement with the client brief. The firm has created some of Dubai’s most recognizable shops and outlets and is able to adapt to a variety of styles.
“We are absolutely ecstatic,” said Kristian Stinson, commercial director at Studio EM. “When we saw the shortlist we thought we have a one-in-ten chance of winning and then we saw the opposition and we thought we actually have a one-in-a-thousand chance. But it’s a lovely way for us to be recognised for what we have achieved in five years.”
Downtown Design joined the CID Awards as Silver sponsor for the first time this year. Fair Director, Rue Kothari, acknowledges the contribution that the awards make to the regional emerging design industry, noting the synergy between the awards and the fair in October: “Bringing the growing community of design professionals together to recognise excellence is something we echo during our fair. It's for this reason that we chose to sponsor the awards this year.“
