This week Downtown Design catches up with Isabel Pintado, Managing Partner of LW Design Group who tells us about how they strive to achieve design excellence with each project.
What type of projects is LW Design Group handling at the moment?
Our current projects range from a new build Raffles hotel in Shenzhen to the refurbishment of Bussola at the Westin in Dubai. Currently going through the drawing boards we have an Arjaan and a Rayhaan Hotel in Doha; a beach resort in Dhofar for the Kempinski group; a resort in Vietnam; two restaurants in Ho Chi Ming City; a large restaurant/club in Moscow and a Meridien hotel in Doha among many other concepts for restaurants and hotels.
How do you as a design firm in the region set yourself apart others?
I believe what sets us apart from other firms is our experience of what works, our detailing and team work. When we propose a lay out to a client or operator it is the result of careful consideration towards the design as well as the practicalities of what is needed within the space. Our strong F&B experience also enables us to provide all necessary design services for the hospitality sector.
What are your core values that make you a successful design business?
We are highly committed to all our clients and projects regardless of size; and pay immense attention to all areas of design within the project. We strive to achieve design excellence with each new commission.
What do you think is the most important aspect in maintaining client relationships?
The most important aspect of retaining clients is to not let them down. Our main focus is to deliver the best results for our clients, and it is important that both parties understand that. Moreover it is important to build trust with the client and to be honest about all aspects.
What plans does LW Design have for its future?
We have recently opened up an office in Sao Paulo and are also looking at expanding our business in Hong Kong and Europe. The focus of our business will continue to be in design for Hospitality and F&B outlets around the world.
The Middle East is ever-growing, what direction do you see design here moving towards in the next 5 years?
I believe the Middle East is not only becoming more contemporary in terms of design but also maintaining an incredibly high level of quality in projects. With growing demands from operators, Dubai has completely transformed and is becoming more international every day.
