The leading Czech producer of designer hand-blown glass lighting will be showing their latest collections: Lightline, Flutes and Muffin at the fair.
Lightline, the latest collection by Lucie Koldova, celebrates the material of glass in every component. The design brings together three different glass processing techniques in a single, luminous and monumental sculptural object. Hand-pressed glass is used to craft the base, onto which the closed hand-blown glass body of the lamp is fitted. The light source projects its glow upon the top etched plane of the lamp, which in profile appears as a thin line of light hovering over the translucent body of the lamp.
Flutes were created as suspension lights in a project for hotel spaces, but their range of potential applications goes far beyond the boundaries of the project specifications. As the name clearly indicates, inspiration for the new collection was found in the flute, and the four stylized openings in the body of the light not only embrace that source of inspiration, they allow for an even greater degree of variation–the angle at which the light hangs is dependent upon which opening the suspension cable is passed through.
Muffin lamps convey a truly extraordinary lighting experience. Their puffy, round shapes and combination of traditional hand-blown tinted glass, oak, and gentle light fill any space with a special aura. The singular design and exceptional quality of the Muffin lamps caught the attention of Yves Saint-Laurent, who used them in a TV ad for their 2011 men’s collection. The Muffin collection comprises three basic variants – floor, ceiling, and table – that can be fitted with a wooden lamp body as well as different glass shades in subtle tones of grey, brown, and yellow.
