Preciosa was recognized for best lighting and sustainability at the HD Magazine Awards in Las Vegas.
Downtown Design exhibitor Preciosa was recently awarded for best lighting at the 11th Hospitality Design Awards in Las Vegas, June 2015. Their work on Muutos received the award for lighting, while Ray received the Special Judges Award for Sustainability. Both winning pieces were created for the Solitaires collection – a series of exclusive handmade pieces designed by leading Czech designers, Jaroslav Bejvl Jr. and Jakub Bedrych.
The Hospitality Design magazine honours some of the best achievements in hospitality design around the globe. Nearly 350 products were submitted in 10 product categories, including Flooring, Lighting, Furniture and Bath and winners of each category were featured in the HD magazine.
Preciosa’s winning Muutos chandelier fuses modern design with traditional craftsmanship. It is made from molten bohemian crystal glass poured into hundred year-old moulds, which when slightly cooled is transformed by hands into its final organic shape. Their Ray lighting concept is made using crystal and LED lights and, according to designer Bedrych, was designed to light the way, showing you that your goals are often closer than they may seem.
Preciosa’s iconic lighting projects can be seen all over the UAE including at The Emirates Palace Hotel, Address Downtown, Taj Hotel Dubai, Sheraton Mall of the Emirates and the One & Only Royal Mirage.
The brand will be exhibiting their award winning lighting designs at Downtown Design this year from October 27 – 31st 2015.
