Designer William Pianta re-contextualises the 70s brand, Nahoor; with exceptional design.

Nahoor takes its name from the Aramic word, symbolising the origin of light. Pianta’s works; since he re-launched the family-owned company in 2009, have centred on bringing the sacred meaning of the word to life with designs that explore the synergies of Italian traditions and the latest technology.

The new generation Nahoor portfolio is characterised by simplicity of form, a rich, yet understated material palette and high regard for craftsmanship.

Driven by passion and experience, Italian craftsmen produce and refine each product by hand. Assisted by the most advanced production technologies, they realise products of extraordinary quality, highlight the Italian way of design and indeed, the country’s commitment to the creative process.

The Galmorama light family – it includes options for the table, floor and ceiling – is emblematic of Pianta’s design ethos. The pure form of the circle is manifested in metallic finishes, aligned in compositions that are dramatic and simple all at once.

Christie explores a suspended light orb for table and floor lamps, while the slender arm of the Mahari collection evokes the grace of a temple dancer.

Pianta’s continual quest for beauty, form and harmony not only lends a new design code for lighting emerging from Italy, it also signals the legacy of Nahoor is in capable hands.
