The playfully thematic collection draws inspiration from childhood’s once forgotten playground.
Founded by Rama Akel in Amman, Jordan, Kawn Designs brings to life unique and imaginative pieces, connecting the past to the future through contemporary and nostalgic styles.
This year, the brand showcased their new collection, titled ‘Is it Possible to Play Forever?’ that featured an assortment of furniture pieces inspired by physical and virtual games, which enlarged familiar shapes with a sense of flexibility and wonder. The collection featured distinctive pieces such as chairs, tables and accessories that ventures into an arena once forgotten by adults by transforming the pieces into toys, blurring the lines between reality and fantasy.
Distinct to the collection is ‘Slinky’, a pair of chairs inspired by the pre-compressed helical spring toy that plays on both scale and imagination of our spaces, reminding us of the beauty of chance.
