The Italian Way Product Design Award presented at Downtown Design
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
The Italian Way Product Design Award presented at Downtown Design brings together two cultures renowned for their legendary hospitality and dedication to dining. The award is launched to discover and celebrate the best product designers in the UAE and is a platform for established and budding product designers to showcase their creativity by developing a functional object for the table.
All designs must be inspired by Italian traditions of craft and effortless style, resulting in an object that would work for the dining demands of the typical Arabic home.
The winner will be matched with a manufacturer to produce the prototype and realize the final design for commercial use and possible production.
Deadline for competition entries is November 1st 2017.
The following documents need to be submitted:
- Presentation of your concept in one PDF file of Max. 10 MB
- Your presentation should include all sketches and images to support your design
- Specification of materials
- Specification of sizes and dimensions
- Renders are optional
- Biography of the designer
- Portrait image of the designer including photocredits

Ownership of all intellectual property submitted to The Italian Way Product Design Award is entirely that of the designer during pre-selection, shortlisting, during production and post-production.
If the product goes into actual production, all revenue agreed with the wholesaler is rightfully the designer’s.
