With a vision to transform real spaces into surreal dimensions, luxury boutique studio Klove specializes in decorative lighting installations.

At the heart of Klove are its light sculptures and installations with a signature style that flows from neo-classical to contemporary design. Having executed lighting installations in several world-class projects like the Mumbai International Airport, Pune’s Ista Hotel, Harvey Nichols, Hard Rock Café in Delhi and The Grand Hyatt, Klove has bagged several national and international awards including Best Talent and Young Talent Award at the Elle Deco International Design Awards.

Alongside these works of wonder is the product line which spans unique decorative lights, chandeliers, pendant lamps, floor lamps, ceiling lights, table lamps and smaller home accessories like mirrors inspired by co-founders Gautam Seth and Prateek Jain’s travels around India and the rest of the world.

This year, Klove celebrates its ten year anniversary, marking an important point in the personal journeys of co-founders and designers as well as the story of design in globalizing India at large. Earning the label of the chic “lighting boys” has involved a great deal of experimentation, training, adventure and risk-taking - the latter of which the partners welcome in both business and personal choices.

Talking about their collections Prateek and Gautam told Downtown Design: “Our lights are form based and rooted in Indian culture and this seeps into everything we design and produce. Indian architecture especially temples, jewelry and festivals are a constant source of inspiration.

“We seek to continuously navigate our journey by exploring different forms in the fluidity of hand blown glass. Combining this craft with choices such as wire work, brass, silver, aluminum, wrought iron or stainless steel onto new age materials like acrylic is a challenge we enjoy. Lighting should be in harmony with its surrounding. Be it functional lights or decorative, the element of harmony should not be compromised.”
