Downtown Design is delighted to announce the participation of Los Angeles-based Bend Goods, a design and manufacturing company that creates functional products for the home and public spaces, at the fair’s fourth edition in October.
Founded by 2010 by Gaurav Nanda, Bend Goods is based on Nanda’s passion for making functional yet sculptural objects. The Michigan-born entrepreneur spent many childhood summers vacationing with his family in Palm Springs. He credits these trips for immersing him in mid-century modern architecture, design and lifestyle. Those things would later influence his decision to leave his corporate job and put his stamp on the era of design that had inspired him for so long.
Bend Goods Visual Journey
The quality of Bend’s products is in the detail: the inviting shapes, the sparks of colour, ease of assembly and packaging. Each element embodies Bend's drive for making iconic, sustainable products. The Los Angeles-based design and manufacturing company shared two exciting new collections, which launched this year.
Betty
Meet ‘Betty’, a bohemian chic stacking chair for every occasion, which gives the viewer all the design they want without sacrificing space. Made from powder coated steel, ‘Betty’ is an indoor/outdoor, seating option with the strength to stand up to the elements.
Switch
In its standard form with a glass top, ‘Switch’ is a side table that champions beautiful wire detailing. That comes with an optional Switch Table/Stool Pad. Use ‘Switch’ in your living room as a side table by day and then switch for extra seating at night. Or take ‘Switch’ out into the backyard. This is clever and versatile design that can be viewed for the first time in the Middle East, at Downtown Design.
