Beba Creations will be debuting their new handmade range of light fixtures and furniture at this year’s Downtown Design.
Beba Creations is a homegrown brand from Abu Dhabi founded by American artist Tariq Raiz. Dedicated to the entire process from idea, design sketch, and final production of a piece, Beba Creations utilizes what is locally available in a responsible and sustainable way.Their furniture materials of choice range from camel leather to recycled wood and from striking red sand of Al Ain to metal from the local scrap yards.
When working with such a variety of materials, Beba Creations respects their natural qualities and stays true to their essence, looking to portray a tranquil yet interesting mix of objects and materials, where each piece is a work of art.
At Downtown Design, the brand will exhibit for the first time a variety of handcrafted light fixtures, as well as new concrete and camel leather furniture pieces that push design to be functional and aesthetically pleasing.
The following are a selection of some of the stunning products they will be exhibiting at the fair:
3 in 1 Coffee Table
As its name states, the 3 in 1 coffee table exists in different forms; the modular table can be used in parts or put together as a whole table. Embedded magnets on the inside edges of the table top helps to align and assemble the sections together effortless. The table frame is hand-crafted out of stainless steel and the top consists of resin tiles with flower inlay.
Modular Light Fixture
Similar to the 3 In 1 Coffee Table, the hand-crafted modular light fixture exists in a variety of stages, existing as a single concrete module floor lamp or multi modular interactive sculpture allowing for variation in detailing of resin inlay or a metal mesh inlay.
Lava Rock Lamp
Inspired by the active volcanoes in Kona, Hawaii, the lava rock lamp captures the glow of molten lava when it solidifies and transforms into lava rock. Hand-crafted out of concert and locally sourced recycled metal, the lamp reflects industrial esthetics.
Industrial Lamp
Honeycomb design of resin filled welded nuts, this lamp is controlled by touch sensors that allow the user to adjust the light intensity by touching any metal part of the lamp.
Pendant Light Fixture
Inspired by the decorative and ethereal nature of jewelry design, the pendant light fixture captures the eye with its copper frame and resin poured panels embedded with flowers.
Eva Couch
Currently under production, this two-seater couch made in dark grey concrete with leather upholstery has built in bookshelves on each side, designed to fit an indoor space such as a living room, business lounge, and hotel lobby.
Mangrove Lounge Chair
Made out of white concrete with stainless steel frame and modern leather upholstery, this sophisticated design naturally stands out in a clean, modern environment where industrial elements are the focus.
Emma Chair
Currently under production, this modern lounge chair made out of concrete with camel hide leather upholstery and a red Meranti wooden base is a statement piece, ideal for a modern home décor.
