Passionate, open, joyful and humble - the Spanish identity is authentically captured in the works of this family run company. Nestled amongst the mountains in the south east of the country, the brand sees itself as an artist, presenting each collection as a carefully considered composition of shape, material and colour.
Eco-responsibility comes just as naturally to Sancal as a contemporary and eclectic style. Their factory produces its own electricity and complies with ISO14000, but above all, the brand rejects throw-away consumerism, continually producing pieces that are designed to pass the test of time, and trends.
Founded in 1974 by Santiago Castaño, the brand that initially followed his philosophy of simplicity has now found a more hedonistic and extroverted voice under the creative guidance of his daughters Esther and Elena.
Aiding the brand’s evolution is an international roster of A-list designers. The Stockholm-based NOTE Design Studio authored La Isla collection is ideal for ‘non-spaces’. Its’ seductive curves and soft upholstery call out to all those navigating a lobby, desperately seeking refuge.
With its studied depth, variety of modules and memory foam cushions, Tip Toe by Rafa Garcia rejects the superfluous - just like Castaño did decades ago – only to add refinement through slender copper or graphite legs.
Manufactured locally in Spain, Sancal’s artistic pieces lend poetry to spaces in more than 90 countries.
