Downtown Design presents even more premium outdoor brands at this year’s fair.
With leading brands Kettal, and Expormim debuting their latest collections at Downtown Design, there are even greater options for designers looking to create impactful outdoor spaces. With traditional indoor furniture brands now creating pieces that liven up outdoor landscapes, the challenge is designing pieces that are weatherproof, long-lasting and stylish.
Here are Downtown Design’s top 5 outdoor furniture must-haves, featured at this year’s Fair:
Bend Goods – Plant Stand
Think of the Bend Goods Plant Stand as the perfect accent to dress up your potted plants. This indoor/outdoor pot is galvanized and powder coated, making it a durable addition to any garden or room. The stand’s geometric detailing both enhances nature’s beauty and makes your front yard a topiary dream.
Kettal - STAMPA
The aluminum STAMPA armchair, designed for Kettal by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, was created by combining several aluminium manufacturing techniques. The calyx shaped metal shell features carefully organized holes which recalls textile sensations and, more practically, allows it to withstand all types of outdoor environments.
Expormim – Nido
Nido is a modular upholstered seating collection made of galvanized steel – a material that can withstand all types of outdoor weather – and finished with a double layer of zinc and polyester powder. The collection was designed by Javier Pastor, a university professor of industrial and graphic design, who explains “I dressed the steel structure of Nido with a roped braiding system. This has enriched the overall texture and finish of the collection, giving the user extra warmth.”
Ville Venete – Cayo
Venetian brand Villevenete, are expert craftsmen in all things wood, springs, feather and jute. The brand’s latest outdoor collection features the use of contemporary materials such as linen and cotton, expertly shaped to withstand all kinds of outdoor weathers. Consisting of sofas, armchairs, poufs and tables the outdoor lifestyle collection is intended for a dynamic audience that opt for comfort, practicality and style in the great outdoors.
Vega- Messara Trading
Vega by Maiori Design is a multi-purpose collection that is undemanding, elegant and carefree. All Vega frames are made with recyclable aluminum and finished with an attractive layer of oven cured epoxy, the cleanest and environmentally friendly paint known. A choice of full aluminum, wicker, batyline or padded batyline choices are available for the seat and backrest making Vega a comprehensive and customizable outdoor furniture option.
Pavilions- Kettal
A collection of aluminium furniture and pergolas painted with polyester powder, Pavilions by Kettal will be a featured seating area next to the café at Downtown Design. The collection boasts an array of daybed structures and aluminium pergolas that can be personalised and configured with blinds, net curtains, panels and ceilings. Pavilions also features dining tables in aluminium with customisable matt glass or outdoor ceramic tabletops.
