ABC returns to Downtown Design with world renowned office furniture brand – Herman Miller

Synonym for “modern” furniture, Herman Miller has had presence in the MEA region for over 30 years. Dating back to 1999, The Middle East and Africa regional office was first established in Dubai with a small four member team. Expanding since, the brand opened their regional design center in 2014 alongside a well-established dealer network. Herman Miller is committed to expanding its presence in the region and reinforcing its goal of being a global leader in furnishing spaces for the office, health, education, hospitality and home environments.

Herman Miller’s long commitment to studying how people work has produced a string of products that help people feel and work better. This record of innovative design is now taking collaborative working to a new level with Atlas Office Landscape. The brand’s heritage in pioneering work systems led  to approaching designer Tim Wallace for a new height-adjustable solution which reflected the desking requirements for the 21st century.

Comfort is the primary criteria behind the Striad Lounge Chair and Ottoman; the first contribution to the Herman Miller collection by designers Markus Jehs and Jürgen Laub of Stuttgart-based Jehs+Laub. Inspired by the construction of a ski boot, Jehs+Laub designed Striad in layers;  each playing a distinct part in the overall experience of comfort.

In designing the Tronco Chair for Mattiazzi, Sam Hecht and Kim Colin embraced the challenge of creating a stackable solid wood chair. Not only does the Tronco stack up to 5-high, but its strong presence translates well even in spaces where large number of chairs are joined together in rows.
