Ayka Design debuts at Downtown Design 2017 with the Vase and the Lady collection
Award winning design boutique studio and brain child of K. Michelle Evans, Ayka Design specializes in hand knotted bespoke rugs. Since the launch of her first collections in the year 2014; Evans has been described as a hospitality specialist with a true understanding of different cultures and someone who creates bespoke designs suited to clients' individual needs.
Inspired by combining a traditional Vase design with unusual modern colors, the “VASE” collection won the Best Traditional Design award in the Carpet Design Awards Germany 2017. Woven in 100% silk with a textured finish, the collection is completed with a modern sophisticated look that fits perfectly with both Traditional and Modern Interiors.Launching at Downtown Design 2017, the “Lady” collection is an intricate design with over twenty colors. Inspired by a young woman wearing her beautifully ornamental garments, the pattern of her robes and its folds becomes a modern abstract pattern in rich jewel tones of amethyst and emeralds highlighted with hints of ivory accents. Soft to the touch, its richness is caught also by the senses harmonizing with the natural luster of handspun silk.
