Returning to the fair, the Italian brand lends a playful edge to furniture manufacturing

Colour, fluid forms and a deep understanding of materials – the cornerstones of the Moroso design code, have bolstered the manufacturer’s artisanal approach to furniture making since it was founded in 1952.

Nearly seven decades later, Moroso is positioned amongst the leaders of international design; with an enviable portfolio of modern classics created in collaboration with some of the most talented names in design - Ron Arad, Patricia Urquiola, Ross Lovegrove and Doshi & Levien amongst others. Each designer brings their own influences and creative vocabulary, enriching Moroso traditions of research, technological and material innovation, and skilful craftsmanship with a diverse market vision.

Kenny, the curved chair achieved from a singular, linear strip of textile, is designed by the founders of Raw Edges, Yael Mer & Shay Alkalay. Turning flat Kvadrat Hallingdal fabric into three-dimensional volumes, the duo explores fabric manipulation to emphasise the shape and geometry of the chair.

The award-winning duo, Stefan Scholten and Carole Baijings are renowned for their sensitive, yet functional products, often unexpected use of colour and exquisitely crafted objects – qualities that Moroso seeks in creative partners. Rounder, softer and more organic forms that contrast with the chosen fabric’s angular colour compositions characterise the Ottoman collection.
