Atelier Swarovski’s latest incarnation Atelier Swarovski Home features a range of collections designed in collaboration with luminaries from the worlds of design and architecture. From the late Zaha Hadid to Tord Boontje, Atelier Swarovski Home works directly with designers to translate its forward-thinking design DNA and technical expertise into collections of covetable Swarovski crystal table top objects and home accessories. The offerings range from pieces which embrace Swarovski crystal as a design medium in its own right to objets d’art which juxtapose crystal with other materials such as resin, metals, marble and Corian. Atelier Swarovski Home is a vivid reminder of the infinite creative possibilities of crystal in design and leverages the company’s most recent innovations. The collections use technologies developed by Swarovski’s experts, including crystal printing and the revolutionary Wave Cut technique.
Prism Circular Tray by Tomás Alonso
Prism was born out of designer Tomás Alonso’s desire to create maximum material and color effect for his pieces. The objects in the series are constructed from crystal and marble prisms, bonded together to create a unique set of trays and tabletop objects. As the user moves around the objects the combination of color and precision cut angles produces fascinating optical illusions and effects.
Lux Orbit Lanterns by Tord Boontje
With ovoid and rounded forms combined with minimalist Corian® and clear Swarovski crystal, Lux Orbit by Tord Boontje is a series that evokes both a classic luxury and something beyond its own time. Inspired by life beyond the terrestrial, Swarovski crystals are scattered over the polished surfaces of ovals and spheres. Items include hurricanes, wine coolers, nut bowls and caviar set in glass, Corian® and crystal.
Crista by Zaha Hadid
Sparked by the late Zaha Hadid’s curiosity about the natural process of crystallization, Crista presents an imposing centerpiece mirroring the process’s chemical form, rendered in Swarovski crystal and metal. The impressive size and reach is a testament to Hadid’s architectural skill and prowess. Crista was crafted using Swarovski’s new Wave Cut technology, which launched in tandem with the collection.
Numbers series by Ron Arad
Crafted entirely from clear Swarovski crystal, the Alphabet & Numbers series by Ron Arad is as playful as it is infinitely combinable. In a new font designed for the project, Ron Arad introduces a crystal incarnation of the numbers 0 to 9 and the 26 letters of the alphabet.
Printed Vase in Pink by Raw Edges
Debuting a new laser-jet crystal printing technique, the Printed collection by Raw Edges features dimensional centerpieces with layered prints and graphic lush color. The modern beveled facets and various sizes and depths of each piece give the series their visual magic, with distorted reflections augmented by the crystal faceting.
Plinth by Kim Thomé
A poetic and inspired take on traditional candle stick holders, Kim Thomé’s design for Plinth features a stainless steel base mixed with a halo of colored Swarovski crystal. The articulate and graphic shape of these objects express a modern streamlined silhouette, while remaining true to elegance of a timeless form.
Glaciarium Orchid Vase by Fredrikson Stallard
Inspired to create a collection which embraces the raw form of crystal, designer Fredrikson Stallard’s Glaciarium features a series of impressive objects whose naturalistic facets erupt in surprising luminosity. From the candle sticks to the impressive Orchid vase, each object expresses luxury in its own elemental way.
Architecture & the City by Daniel Libeskind
When art imitates life; Daniel Libeskind‘s championship-size chess set Architecture & the City is an ode to the cityscapes of Milan and New York and some of Libeskind’s most iconic buildings. With mixed materials such as concrete, marble, silver and Swarovski crystal, this playful piece is meant for interaction and conversation.
Crystal Vase by Aldo Bakker
Combining traditional marble with faceted, graphic form, Aldo Bakker’s Crystal Vase collection features modular vases in three sizes. The base acts as a shallow water pool, with the body crafted from three interconnecting elements in either faceted marble or crystal, creating a fascinating play of light. Functional yet abstract, the designs are tactile and visually engaging.
