Designed by Mario Cucinella, the latest collection Flexia recalls the Japanese art of Origami.
Born in 1959 from the creative and entrepreneurial spirit of Ernesto Gismondi and Sergio Mazza, Artemide is still today a company specialized in the lighting sector which represents one of the many Italian design excellence.
At Downtown Design 2020 Digital Fair, they will present Flexia - a play of perceptions between the visible, material and colored, and the invisible that becomes light”: inspired by papiroflexia, the technique used to fold papyrus, Flexia recalls the Japanese art of origami.
The lamp was born from the encounter between Artemide's lighting know-how and Mario Cucinella's experience in sustainable design , whose work pursues constant attention to sustainability issues conceived according to a holistic approach and declined on every design scale.
The meeting point is the common vision aimed at improving the quality of daily life while respecting people and the environment. Thus the attention to detail, combined with the simplicity of principles and respect for the well-being of those who really use the spaces, becomes a feature strongly determined by the quality of the light .
