Known to many as a musician, Carl Gerges started the hugely successful band Mashrou’ Leila with a group of fellow students while studying architecture in Beirut. Now, he is applying the same composer's approach to architecture - ‘thinking stenographically - to develop projects that are intimately linked to nature and to their locality.
