At Kind of Cyan we make cyanotypes, a.k.a. sun-prints, one of the oldest analog techniques in the history of traditional photography. They find their inspiration from the natural, tropical world, as we delve into the deep blue water-like tones that cyanotypes naturally give.
All their prints are printed using UV light in a lab and are made by hand. In 2018 our work was given the ArtsFAD Prize, an award given to the best work of the Art section of the exhibition “The Best Design of the Year” in the Design Museum of Barcelona.
At the Downtown Design Digital Fair 2020, Kind of Cyan launched five to ten new models. "Moonlight Ripples over Lake Como" is a piece that shows the subtle movements of lake ripples with the abstracted moonlight reflected on the surface.
