Earlier this year, in partnership with Immensa Additive Manufacturing, they launched the 3D Printed Luminaire Design Competition, inviting established and emerging designers to design a lighting object.
Judges including Kristina Zanic from Kristina Zanic Consultants; David McNeil, director of DPA Lighting Consultants; Fahmi Al-Shawwa, CEO of Immensa Technology Labs; Imad Itani at Autodesk; Khaled B Alami, managing director of Huda Lighting and Autodesk's Mohammad Saleh, met at the Huda Lighting showroom in Dubai to choose the winning entries.
In first place was the organic form of 'Chrysaora' by Chirag Rangholia. Second place went to 'Chaos Lighting Collection' by Desiree Abboud. There was a third-place tie between 'The Future Catcher' by Muhammad Khalid, and 'Bat's Movement Biomimicry' by Alaa Shibly. The lights are on display at the Huda Lighting showroom in Dubai.
