Designers Phillip Hollander and Stephen Wilson have come together with a single aim to design accessible and covetable furniture, with basic human principles of exclusivity, environment and legacy. With inspiration from modernist design, especially the Scandinavian aesthetic, the designers challenge themselves to employ modern methods to create functional pieces with a future heritage.
The Houtlander Way, is focused on minimalist design, while creating furniture that is tooled with accuracy, without using a single nail or screw. Houtlander only uses high quality sustainable harvested hardwoods – primarily oak simply because it is so well-loved. The furniture is light in style and weight but strong and hard wearing, simply designed for everyday life.
