DAMJ is a unique atelier based out of a historic vaulted carpentry shop in the Gemmayzeh / Mar Mkhayel area of Beirut. A collaboration between architect Ahmad Khouja and master carpenter Joseph Haddad, the workshop is a space where a number of different kinds of projects can materialize.
The inspiration and concept for DAMJ comes from the integration of several factors. Being a design/build company, the integration of fabrication realities is present in the design process from the very beginning. This is partly due to the inherent collaboration between a designer and a fabricator, but also due to our accumulated experience bringing a variety of projects to fruition. Though predominantly a fabrication space, several design pieces and works in progress can be viewed in the shop on a daily basis.
