Founded by sculptor and engraver Piero De Vecchi in 1935, De Vecchi began as a silversmith atelier. In 1962, Piero’s son Gabriele, succeeded him and started a new creative path with silver, based on the material’s reflective qualities and on the relationship between the object and the environment. From 2000, De Vecchi began to involve in their creative process some of the most important interior designers in the world, such as Bouroullec, Palomba, Urquiola, Massaud, Dordoni, Dixon, Ferreri, Crasset and Grcic.
At Downtown Design, a historical collection of De Vecchi products—consisting of vases, candlesticks, trays and other items—will be shown, as well as some of the new articles created by fresh, young designers that are collaborating with the De Vecchi group.
